Running your first scan
Open LC9 Defence and click SCAN NOW. A Quick Scan takes a few minutes. Run a Full Scan if you think something is wrong: it checks every file and can take an hour or more.
LC9 found a threat
Leave the known threats ticked and click Quarantine selected. For suspicious files, read the reasons shown. If you don't recognise the file, quarantine it. You can restore it later.
A file couldn't be quarantined
The file is in use. Close the program that's using it, or restart Windows, then scan again.
Some files were skipped
Files that are in use, protected by Windows, or larger than the size limit can't be checked. The summary tells you how many. The size limit is in Settings.
Restoring a file
Open Quarantine and choose Restore. LC9 puts the file back where it was, and won't overwrite a file that's there now.
Updating definitions
Open Updates to see the version and date of your definitions. Online updates are coming; until then you can install a signed definitions file.
